Amas Veritas 12x16inch PRINT by Molly Nighy

My new painting, 'Amas Veritas', is inspired by the 1998, whimsical and witchy movie: Practical Magic. I named my art after the famous love spell set by young Sally at the start of the movie, sending petals flying across the moon, which sets up the story. I wanted to get as many nods to the movie in my painting, for the fans to spot, as I could. This includes the black cat, dove, glowing moon, death-watch beetle, the witches on top of the roof; as featured in the movie, and of course, the iconic Owens' house.

I'm so in love with the colour palette of this painting, keeping the sky cold and the garden misty, but the house warm and autumnal. The prints are of the image attached below. The Latin spell 'Amas Veritas' symbolises hope, desire, and the pursuit of a perfect, transformative love. So I hope it brings some 'Amas Veritas' magic to your space!
